I waited but he didn't turn up the usual time. Another 15 minutes and still no sign nor sms. Thought that it was very strange. Walked out, his car could have been parked further down. Nope. Turned off my phone and turned it on again as the message could have gotten stuck somewhere, but nothing too. Sent an sms but no reply. Decided to be the persistent/demanding/controlling/spot-checking girlfriend and give a call. After all, something could have happened. Call #1 was answered and ended in a sec. Call #2 had a shriek that didn't sound like his voice and ended in 2 seconds. Panicked and got out of the car. He could be mugged, he could be held up, he could have got into an accident, he could be abducted, he could be being sodomised (you never know, it's the in-thing nowadays), he could be fighting for his life, he could be fighting off an attacker. Made call #3. At least I recognise his voice now, but it was all in mumbles and I can't make out a word. He could still be mugged, still be held up, still could have gotten into an accident, still be abducted, still being sodomised, still fighting for his life or still fighting off an attacker.
Turns out that he was still sleeping and said that he'll see me in the office instead.
Was I overreacting? Anything could happen these days. And especially when you're expecting to meet and no one turns up. Or should we just be less concern and live our solitary lives.
Btw, this is my 100th post. What a celebration.
