You don't know how difficult it has been, to get this bloody Internet.

1st: Having no Internet at work sucks and fucks big time. No chatting, no blogging, no banking, no checking emails, no submitting part-time work, no reading the news.. It's very difficult when you can't do things you want to do. The worse is not blogging and not chatting; having an overload of things in my head and not being able to speak to your boyfriend miles away was just too much and too lonely to bear.

So off I go to the PC fair for a laptop and Internet application. This was 14 Dec if I'm not mistaken. Signed up for Streamyx and was promised that the phone line application and whatever application would be done within a week. Ok, I've endured a month, just stay cool, really cool, and a week will pass without realising it.

1 week, 2 weeks.. still nothing. Called 100, the TM number but waited a long time and finally got disconnected. Assholes. Can't call that often from the office as well. Finally I called my contact person and guess what? No more phone ports or whatever ports left for my phone line. Which translates into NO.STREAMYX.

Then what else?? Wimax or Maxis Broadband??

Kinda surrendered already. Tired of anticipation, rejection and disapointment already.

After some time, I picked up strength and hope, and called the Wimax number Timmy gave. He also can't tahan already, misses me (thank god for that) and gave me 2 numbers to call. Called after a few days, only to be told that my lorong is on the border of the coverage area, but can give it a try.

What kinda area do I live in??

It's not good for a girl to be disappointed over and over again.

But I've got no other options. Maxis seems to really suck based on those forum discussions. So yesterday, after putting off collecting the modem from JJ for trial, Timmy and I went to get it. After pakthoring for a few hours, I plugged the modem in and there was nothing for the whole night. Despite being used to rejection, there was still a little glimmer of hope that life cannot be playing that many tricks on me right?

Was it not activated yet? Or the modem was too far from the window (I couldn't find the extension cord in the store and there is only 1 plug point in my hall)? Or is there NO coverage at all???

So bloody annoyed, I went to sleep.

And woke up this morning and gave it a shot again. Since no one was up yet, I could turn off the tv, use that plug point, let the wires and cables run all over the hall and sofas, and waited and waited. After a long time, the signal came on saying that the strength is "weak". So there is coverage after all! Not satisfied, I adjusted it and it started 'bringing up the wireless link' all over again for a good one hour.

And I got a "Good" strength!! YM signed in immediately and the pop up saying that I have 2 new mails ..well..popped up right after that too!! That was the most pleasing sight that indicated civilisation in my deprived humanhood. <-- whatever this sentence means

So for now..

I'VE GOT INTERNET!! Thanks to P1 Wimax. Else I would have to pay RM50 just for trial cos that is the activation fee. I would smash the modem to the floor if I had to pay RM50 just to find out that there was no coverage, as what I wanted to do last night.

We could have grabbed cash in the vault had we signed up for Wimax at the PC fair. Asshole Streamys. There was an uncle stuffing money into his shirt. There would definitely be more gifts and promotions too, and all I got for signing up for Streamyx was a mousepad.

As for now, wires and cables are running everywhere, the modem is balanced on 2 dictionaries by the window and connection is on and off cos I moved the modem a few inches from the original position earlier. Will make do for now!

Congratulations to myself!! I might be a bit happier now!
